Up next in our look ahead to the All Star awards this evening is our half back All Star nominees. Again, like our full back line, all the players from our half back line have been nominated for awards!
Siobhan Gardiner
It is a maiden All-Stars nomination for the right wing-back after an excellent defensive display for the All-Ireland champions. The Ardrahan star played a pivotal role as the Tribeswomen claimed the best defensive record en route to claiming the Senior Championship honours.
Caitriona Cormican
Experience was something Galway had in their defense last September, and they certainly relied on the experience of their left wing-back Catriona Cormican. It is a second consecutive nomination for the Cappataggle defender who is yet to add a coveted accolade to her trophy cabinet. Cormican who was a dual inter-county player, took the decision back a few years ago to focus on playing inter county camogie!
Emma Helebert:
Helebert is relied upon as one of the experienced players in the Galway defence even though she is only in her mid 20’s and she proved her credentials on the pitch once again this year to bring the championship title back to Galway. Her reliability in defence, within possession and creativity on the pitch has earned her a second consecutive All-Stars nomination.
