An informal re-union of the 1988 All Ireland Junior Camogie championship winning Galway team was held recently, organised by the captain of the team, Geraldine Heavey, and Hilda Finnegan. Many of the girls involved in the campaign came together to reminisce about that glorious summer when Roscommon, Down and Limerick were beaten on the way to Galway’s 4th Junior Camogie title. Also fondly remembered were those who mentored and played who are no longer with us.
