Senior Manager: Cathal Murray

Cathal Murray was ratified as the Galway Senior Camogie Manager, for 2024/2025 with the option of 2026. Cathal came on board as the manager of the senior camogie team towards the end of the 2018 League campaign. Since then Cathal has managed teams to 3 All Ireland senior titles – in 20192021 and 2025, 3 National Camogie League Division 1 titles – in 201920222023, an All Ireland Intermediate title in 2022 and an All Ireland U23 title in 2025.

 

Prior to taking on the role of manager of Galway Camogie senior team, Cathal was manager of Sarsfields hurlers. Cathal played for Sarsfields in an All-Ireland Final at Croke Park at the end of his debut season in March 1998, and was player-manager when the East Galway outfit garnered their last county title in 2015.

 

Cathal received the Camogie Association Manager of the Year Award in 2019 and 2021, the Medtronic Sports Star Award for Manager of the Year Award in 2021 and the PwC Camogie Manager of the Year Award in 2025. He is one of six managers to receive a nomination for the 2025 RTE Sport Manager of the Year.
