Coaching Insights: Physio Interview – Sharon Morris

The third interview we are featuring from the new Galway Camogie Coaching section is Galway Camogie Physio for the Senior team, Sharon Morris. As our underage players are heading back to the pitch soon it is important that players and coaches alike are aware of ways to protect their players from injury. In this interview Sharon talks about ways players and coaches can prevent injury; common injuries from overtraining; when should a coach interact with a physio when a player is injured; the impact returning from injury too early can have on a player; and what coaches can do to help player development and injury prevention.

The Galway Camogie Coaching Section contains great insights into effective coaching with some of Galway’s best. It includes established players and coaches as well as future leaders of Galway GAA. This section hopes to give coaches an insight into the experiences and knowledge of some of the major stakeholders within Galway GAA. This interview style process hopes to cover all aspects of coaching both on and off the field

Over the coming weeks, we will continue to run a series of posts containing coaching and player interviews – the interviews feature players, coaches and physios with Galway Camogie as well as Hurling coaches such as Jeffery Lynskey and Brian Hanley and former Galway Hurler Tony Óg Regan!
